Update 3: The Art of Cry Havoc Remastered
5 months ago – Mon, Apr 27, 2026 at 02:45:49 AM

Hello knights and serjeants,

We'd love to share some of Gary Chalk's incredible art with you today. Cry Havoc uses variations in tokens to represent the changing state of a warrior's health over the course of a battle.

They start out hale and hearty, cantering around the battlefield dealing death at every turn. As a result of combat, they may be wounded or stunned. Death is the inevitable conclusion of suffering further injury while in these states.

As you can see below, Sir Richard has eight tokens in the game, each one representing the various states he can be found in during a game of Cry Havoc.

We've put together a selection of other characters from the game to showcase the brilliance of Gary's art.

Two foot knights as they will appear on your table, complete with their statistics.

Maps & Stretch Goals

We are still hard at work behind the scenes on the feasibility of a couple of stretch goals, that we may be able to announce later on this week.

One thing we are exploring is the ability to offer separate map packs as an addon, please use the poll below to let us know what you'd want this to look like.

Fresh off the presses from Steve: the Wooded Vale, one of the new maps unlocked as part of the campaign.

Update 2: Stretch Goals & Project Scope
5 months ago – Tue, Apr 21, 2026 at 12:33:16 PM

Hello knights and serjeants!

I want to start out by saying that we are absolutely astounded by the level of support we've seen from the community. Cry Havoc is 45 years old and has been out of print for a very long time. Our research showed us that there was still a community out there, but we weren't sure how many of you we'd be able to reach or what level of interest there would be, hence the modest scope of this campaign.

Essentially we planned to deliver an uncomplicated product through an achievable campaign and on a tight timeline and budget. At this point, we've definitely achieved that, and anything extra we add on top of what we've already done will have to fit within the budgetary and time constraints. We are currently working hard behind the scenes to work out what is feasible. We don't have any more stretch goals to add currently, but watch this space because there may be something coming before the end of the campaign.

We really value every single piece of feedback we've received, and are definitely taking it all on board. We know you're all hugely excited to see the rest of the range of Cry Havoc products, and we're also exploring whether we'll be able to do these in a future campaign later in the year. That campaign will likely be much greater in scope, with a larger range of stretch goals and add-ons.

Thank you again for all the support and enthusiasm you've shown over the past few days.

Best wishes,
Mark, Rich & the Footsore Team

Update 1: We've funded!
6 months ago – Fri, Apr 17, 2026 at 01:49:33 PM

If any of us here at Footsore owned a trumpet, we'd be sounding a fanfare loud enough to be heard in London right now. We're absolutely blown away with the amount of support we've had so far, and we're so excited to bring this fantastic classic game back to your tables.

We're going to spend the weekend celebrating and we'll be back on Monday to see how we're progressing on those stretch goals!
